I make sure to stock up on potions and mage water at the beginning of the third task.  Also equip yourself with the strongest gems.  But I actually found that using the rock throwing one repeatedly as he switches from side to side while you stay in the same place wears him down.

 

Incense is lit, meat is down, I remove the incense - how do I get the wasps after that?

I'm OCD about the Steam Achievements.

I've read all of the books and notes I can find, but apparently I'm missing one.  Any thoughts where a final note can be?

Also - saving an ally in need looks like Bort - but the game goes into auto mode then.  Where is that an option?

Do you recall what it was next to?  What screens?  I literally made a map so I may be able to find it from there.  Or perhaps I already have!

Hint for 3rd bag in the wastelands for air quest?

Literally methodically searched the forest with a map and cannot find the 10th mushroom - are we being punked?

Just played this part as an Earth Mage as well and the "rug" that you need is in the Goblin hut where they are sleeping where you get the key.  You need to get it there when you're getting they key.  As a water mage it is outside near the Trinicorn area.

Is it actually possible to find him in the forest?  I'm looking everywhere...

Interesting.  I was able to put the poster back together and beat the game without saving him. 

Any hints about how to go about finding him?  Besides roaming the wastelands aimlessly?

Ah - so you have to pay 70 gold for it?

Is saving that guy on the missing poster at the bread sellers a real quest?  Or can only certain classes do it?  Or is it not a quest at all?

Is there any other significance to the wastelands?  Or only if you're a fire mage does it have more to do there?

Am able to get the sapphire for the 1st quest and the Ruby on the 3rd, but unable to find the second quest gem.  Anywhere I should be looking?

I got the quest from the trinket seller about the wastelands and have his map - but I still can't seem to find where his things are?  Any suggestions or did people just wander all over the entire map a ton?

Check the corner behind the Fire Mage, you should see it leaning up against the wall.

I'm able to move correctly one screen on the lake using the riddle, which corresponds to the compass directions.  But for the second direction, which i interpret as water, it sends me back.  Does anyone have a suggestion?  Or is this the games way of saying I"m not ready to go yet?

Is it Q4G enough that the only way to earn money is killing things?  I need more gold for a "strong drink" and don't have enough.  Or is it the order in which I purchased things that was wrong?

I also had this issue, so I opened it in Steam, selected Options I believe, and chose Windowed screen and then it was fine.
