Quote from: "eriqchang"It's time to start visiting the forums again if you've been away. Something special is brewing in the cauldron at AGDI and I'm getting all mushy inside just thinking about it!
Are you ready? Let's take a ride in the time machine!

Quote from: "KQartist"I'm definitely excited about what's brewing in AGDI's cauldron (big enough for King Graham to push a witch into).

Am I to understand that there is both a new Himalaya game in production and a new AGDI title? or are the names simply interchangeable now

Hmmm, pleasantishness  :hehe: ,

So if I were to preorder the collector's edtion, would it matter if I did so before or after the decision is made whether to include the soundtrack or not? I want to make sure I get one of those babies, so I'd rather not wait on a confirmation. Extra special thanks for possibly including this =^.^=.

Apparently it's only $10 for any international order since those orders are hand packed. If all orders were packed this way it might be ~$6 for domestic shipping, but I can see how that would be hectic for a small group to handle. Still a good idea for an indie startup.

Wow! ;)).  I will have to wait a little while longer. I know Himalaya put crazy amounts of work into this project and I'd love to do my bit to recompense, but I simply cannot justify that at this moment in time.

Ooh, I'll have the demo in a few hours, coolness!

Quote from: "trudysgarden"Since I need 2 of them, I'd better take those cans and bottles back to the store......................

Hehe, I need to do that too. However, living in Michigan, I only need to take back half the amount you will  :D.

Is it even possible to offer paid for downloads via BitTorrent? I think that would only make piracy that much easier, which is something none of use want.

Mega corprorations can get away with charging ridiculous amounts for shiping, even domestically. However, I believe Himalaya's international price and shipping structer would be a lot more fair, since (from what I hear) it is shipping from a house and not a business space.

Would it be well worth it to have members of the team around the world handle fulfullment? That is to say North Americans can buy from Headquarters, Australians from Chris, Europeans from Stijn, etc.

I would be all about putting up posters. There was a QfG2VGA poster made up I think nearly 2 years ago. I posted copies around my college and put them on bulletin boards in Media Play and at my local coffee shop. The latter is frequented by several people in their 20s and 30s that I've had conversations about old Sierra games with, seems like an Al Emmo poster would be at home there :).

General Forum / Himalaya members solo projects?
March 31, 2006, 12:59:01 PM
Whilst looking through the team profiles, I found a vague bit of information under Chris' name:
Quote"Mr. Warren soon used his skills to co-found his own non-profit game project, and the results were impressive. Using his remarkable management skills, he completed his first project within 9 months; his second project was completed nearly a year later."
Does this refer to the KQVGA remakes? or something altogether different? This has got me thinking of other games the Himalaya team might have worked on, besides the obvious ADGI titles. Have any of the other members worked on any completed games besides Al Emmo? I see most of the profiles reveal some great love for old adventures and creating their own adventure related work.

Quote from: "coroloro"I think I know where my vote is now- be it detective, police, fantasy, historical fiction, sci fi, or a combination there-of... make it based in Asia! :P A developer named Himalaya making a game set in Asia!

That would make an interesting fusion of genres, I can see it now:
"Our stringent hero/exo-entomologist arrives in Kathmandu, hell-bent on saving the area's marsupial population from an extra-terrestrial flesh-eating insect horde"  :hehe:

I am quite interested to see Himalaya continue to make games in QfGesque fantasy settings, with their own style of course. It is exciting to see that Himalaya are developing a western, not just creating parodies of their earlier work.

Aside from Fantasy adventure, I have an innate attraction toward science fiction games. Anything set in space or a non-Earth planet,  moon, or starbase gets my money :p.

Quote from: "GameDevBrit"Hey, why don't we have California Pizza Kitchen cater Tostada pizzas?  Kinda like taco, meets pizza, meets vegetarian meal ;)). I so miss their japanese eggplant and goat cheese pizzas!
