Quote from: "Pidgeot"I never said it was a very big problem, just that it was the biggest. There's a difference :)

PW2 and 3 are indeed already done, albeit for GBA, and it did surprise me a bit to hear it would take so long for PW2 to come out. Then again, they will have to change at least one puzzle (and graphics) in case 1,
since it is based on two different ways to spell the name "Suzuki" in Kanji
, so I guess that WOULD take a little while.

Ah, I get ya.

Just to reiterate to anyone who missed it: buy Phoenix Wright immediately. One of the best DS games around with the most captivating gamelpay/characters I've seen in what feels like years. Most exciting thing I've played in gaming in the last few months aside from playing Nintendo Wii.

Quote from: "Pidgeot"Another Code really is a good and interesting game (or rather, tech-demo-disguised-as-a-game), the main problem is that it's a bit short - it doesn't take more than 4-5 hours to complete even if you don't know the solution.

Nevertheless, it's an enjoyable experience while it lasts, and it has some very interesting puzzles which take advantage of all the features of the machine.

I'm surprised you're on an adventure gaming website if Trace Memory's length is a problem for you. . . seriously.

Trace Memory is awesome and Phoenix Wright is FANTASTIC.

Phoenix Wright 2 and 3 are already made, so it's a translation and interfacing issue that must be delt with. It'll be here soon. :-)

Quote from: "GameDevBrit"Hey guys,

Let it be known, you have been heard!  In the limited edition of the game, we will be providing a complimentary soundtrack of the game :D

We will be making an update to the site shortly so there will be no confusion.

Thanks for the suggestion!

This pleases me, and makes my money spent a little easier. Thank you. :-)

Quote from: "Angelus3K"Yea, it is good value but I couldnt afford the special edition one. So ordered the standard one.

I couldn't really afford it either, that's the thing. x-p *slides credit card for Himalaya*. :-)

Also.. the first 100 for the game in general, or is there a seperate counter for each version? Or.. what..? I still don't understand what I can benefit from preordering early.. though I did..

I'm spreading the word of the demo and the title to all venues I am aware of, but one thing stifles me.

I'd preorder now, and I do want that limited edition for several reasons:

A) I'm a sucker for such things.
B) It's got extra stuff.
C) I'd like to further help this company.

But.. the price is hard to stomach. 30 extra dollars is a very large amount for an "LE", especially when it's essentially for a signature. I think that, even with the sound track, this is a little expensive.  I think 50 would have been more appropriate, if not 40.

I think it really should include the soundtrack for that price, to be fair.  I do hope that consideration, as mentioned above, is taken to the fullest.

However, since I'm truly desiring to support this company and further its efforts in any way I can, I will submit and buy this LE. And also because you were so very nice to me in the e-Mail correspondance, Britney. :-)

Just food for thoughts, though. Don't take offense.

Preordered.

I tried Syberia my self, which I failed to mention in my earlier post. Unfortuantely, it was to dismay. I wasn't enthralled at all with the characters, setting, or initial plot. Though I didn't make it very far, all I encountered was drabness and graphical errors. :-(

We're playing Super Mario Bros. 3 around here lately. Waiting for Al Emmo..

Shadow of Destiny, I saw this title mentioned earlier here. This is a very good game - quite solid in every respect of the word. I didn't entirely know what to expect upon playing it at first - and yes, it's definitely slow at points - but it is most certainly an intruiging adventure.

I'll agree that it's not for everyone, but since the death of Quest for Glory and company, it's a nice breath of fresh air - at least in reference to storytelling. The humor isn't quite all there. But this is fine - it's not the same style of game.

I'd recommend all adventure fans at least *try* this title for a while with an open mind.

Otherwise, as far as recent adventure games go.  . hmm .. King's Quest II VGA? ;-) Honestly, there's not much. I end up playing the same old classics again and again. It's just the best solution for the dead genre. :-(

Anyone have thoughts on Broken Sword series? I'm liking the Templar game, it's entertaining.

Based on your implication that the final version -could- possibly fit on the CD, I'd say that CD is the best option for release, even during the event that it requires 2 CDs.

While DVDs are fairly spread throughout, the CD release is going to have a slightly higher penetration rate, which I think is good for this title.. Though I do, not everyone has a DVD drive.

Hmm..

Titles in the Zelda and Mario series deserve to dominate it. Though there are games missing and games in place I do not feel appropriate, everyone's going to disagree. ;-)

I would also be satisfied with a single-class focus, as I'm more interested in the -style- of the game, not so much the multi-class (though that is a high interest point, too).

When I was growing up and playing adventure games, King's Quest VI seemed like a joke to Quest for Glory VGA to me - based entirely on the width of that title. As I mentioned in another post somewhere, the first game in the series makes me feel as though I could almost play it forever, just doing what little tasks there are to do beyond the winning of the game merely because of the way it is presented. RPG-styled stat growth adds so much addictive quality, as well as lasting gameplay. While it probably does complicate and "double" developer effort/work/time, I'm sure it "doubles" the final product, too. I've always felt that Quest for Glory was, in core play, the most superior adventure series in existence, unrivaled. While other games may fight up and compare with the stories and so forth, the gameplay is unrivaled.

While you can keep the choices, it doesn't have to be as wild as Quest for Glory (that's to say as widespread..). Just choices and options.

Yes yes, my 2 cents. :-)

Haha, this speaking of Quest for Glory breaks that last barrier to registering here on the forums. I can't resist sitting down and speaking about Quest for Glory series with other people.

Let's see - I think I'm going to concur with the man desiring a little more thief love in III. I think this is a fairly common complaint, but it does serve a purpose. While Tarna may not have been the most obvious place for a thief den to exist, thieves are prevailing - they don't just go away. I believe this problem could have been solved by a small thief presence and a little access to more parts of the town (since there's not a whole lot to be stealing about throughout the countryside).

My primary complaint with III, though, is the combat system. I don't know what the deal is with that - in fact, I really still don't understand it. As far as I understand it, you just kind of slash a bunch and hope you win. It always felt so "loose". Maybe I just never quite figured it out. Shrug.

Though that's my complaint with my favorite title in the series, too - IV. I also dislike the combat system in that title, though not as much. I feel it's a little tighter, but it still can't touch the favored systems in II and IVGA. That aside, I feel as though IV has the most wonderful environment and design. I LOVE the Mordavian countryside and the "feel" of the area. It's great, great, great!

I do like II and IVGA as well, both favorites. I feel as though the first title in the series has a "homely" feel to it - one that if it had a few more things to do that I could simply run around it forever, killing Cheetars (sp) and turning in their claws for cash. I did this a lot as a child, just mindless playing on my final character.

This kind of brings me to II - I'm so eagerly anticipating II's revival in VGA. I feel like Tierra is going to do such a wonderful job - I've seen the past work. I'm so impressed and now it's coming to one of the best adventure games on the planet!

I'm even further excited about Al Emmo. Mostly, I have high hopes from Himalaya. Now if only time would pass and I could be to play them. :-)

Blah blah, babbling done..
