[SPOILERS] - I can not beat the final boss?! (Earth Mage)

So I am in the Manor House and trying to fight the main dude... he is teleporting all over the place and I can not seem to fire any spells at him. The only way I can work out how to damage him is by casting my armour spell that reflects damage... but it uses so much mana I am running out to fast.

I'm a earth Mage... any tips on this fight?

I make sure to stock up on potions and mage water at the beginning of the third task.  Also equip yourself with the strongest gems.  But I actually found that using the rock throwing one repeatedly as he switches from side to side while you stay in the same place wears him down.

To be fair... He was fighting two mages for some time, so he may have exhausted all his healing potions before fighting D'arc.
