Does Al Emmo uses Alpha Blending?

I downloaded the demo, and the game looks really good! :cool:

There is one thing that keeps me wondering: How the hero is anti-aliased with the backgrounds? I'd need that kind of option so much with my own (640x400) game project. As much I know about AGS, alpha blending still requires 32-bit depth and it doesn't work with scaling sprites.
