Dead-End bug? *Spoiler*

I'm on Act 4, I've been stuck for quite some time, then I resorted to read a walkthrough and I've found out that I'd already done everything in this act except that I can't get the "pair of mellons", when I go to the oasis, Pam is still there and there is nothing I can do/talk/use to take her mellons

What happens when you click the HAND icon on the melon pile in Act 4? Do you receive any messages or character speech?  Al should just walk over and take them.

Oh Jeez... I didn't even notice the pile of mellons behind her, I thought it was another one of the hundreds of cactus... lol I clicked every cactus in the game to read the narrator's description but this one.
