corrupt or missin sound.vox file

Ok, I'm crying in my beer, or at least I want to...in the game, darn it.  

When I try to install at 90 percent finished I receive a messge that says corrupt or missing sound.vox file you must retry installation.  Which I have done several times.

Wah.  I want to play.

Sounds strange. There is no sound.vox included with the game. Only a music.vox and a speech.vox file. Have you tried installing your game CD on another computer to see if that works?

It could be that your CD drive is too old/slow to read the disc properly. I would suggest trying to copy the setup.exe file (which is located in the CD's root folder) to your hard drive and then simply installing the game from there. Once it has installed successfully, you can safely delete the setup.exe from your hard drive again.

Hi! I am getting similar errors on two different computer using the Telltames demo download.

Al Emmo downloads & says it extracts, then during the installation/extraction says it has a problem with a file or asks if it has a corrupt installer?  

ermm..if the program doesn't know then I sure don't!  

I came here hoping someone can help. Looks like a very promising game!

I can only assume that your installer may have gotten corrupted during the downloading process which can happen occassionally when downloading files.

During the extraction process there should be no error/notification messages like the one you mentioned.

I guess the best advice would be to try downloading the installer again.

I believe TellTale set up the game installer themselves using NSIS. I'm not really familiar with the way they did it, so if you continue to have problems, posting on the TellTale forums may be the best course of action.

well -- third time WAS the charm!  

So now I am looking at the purchase screen and fumbling for a card number.

I came back in to tell you and see if there was a promotional code --because telltale has a spot for one. Doesn't look like there is so I am ready to go on ahead & get it.

The moral of the story is that large downloads can be touchy if you multi task -even on cable.  A dedicated pursuit of Al's hunched little bod was the winning approach.

Well, that's what they say about the 3rd time, isn't it?  At any rate, good to hear that Al's hunched form was worth the several hundred MB of wasted bandwidth you must have endured. Touching, really...

As for the promo code, unless Telltale have some kind of promotional offer, then, as far as I'm aware, there's no promotional code for the game.
